The Hepworth Prize for Sculpture is a major biennial award and exhibition recognising a British or UK-based artist who has made a significant contribution to contemporary sculpture. The studio pitched to create an identity for the prize that is both distinguishable from other national art prizes and has lasting appeal.
The typography throughout aims to reflect that of Barbara Hepworth’s sculptural works, and image priorities each shortlisted artists’ work. The public invite references the recurring ‘hole’ motif (symbolic of Hepworth’s work), while the private invite continues the use of the oxidised metal colour in a nod towards, and to compliment, the gallery’s existing brand.
Although unused, the conceived identity was to be applied across multiple collateral both local and national, including flyers, private and public invites, outdoor campaign, and poster material.
